Terms of Service
Effective July 1, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the CopOrDrop mobile application or website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CopOrDrop ("we", "us", "our"). We may update these Terms from time to time in accordance with Section 18.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use CopOrDrop. We collect your date of birth during registration and block account creation for users under 13.
- If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service.
- By creating an account, you represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate and that you meet the age requirement above.
- We reserve the right to terminate or suspend any account where we have reason to believe the user does not meet these requirements.
3. Accounts
- You may create an account using a phone number (verified via one-time passcode), Sign In with Apple, or Sign In with Google.
- You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information at sign-up and keep it up to date.
- You may only maintain one active account. Creating additional accounts to evade a suspension or ban is a material breach of these Terms and will result in permanent termination of all associated accounts.
- You may not transfer, sell, or assign your account to any other person or entity.
- You may delete your account at any time from Settings. See our Privacy Policy for details on data removal.
- We reserve the right to reclaim usernames that are inactive, misleading, or violate these Terms.
4. The Service — Core Features
CopOrDrop is a social voting application. The core features include:
- Drop Zone — a time-limited voting feed where you post photos ("Drops") for your followers (and, on public accounts, the wider community) to vote on. Each Drop has an expiry time set by you at the time of posting.
- Vault Direct — an alternative posting mode where content goes directly to your Vault without entering the voting feed.
- Cop / Drop voting — you may cast one vote per post. Votes are final and cannot be changed after submission.
- Vault — a collection of posts that received enough "Cop" votes or were posted directly as Vault Direct. You can organise Vault items into collections.
- Product Links — you may attach external product links to a Drop. We may scrape publicly available metadata (title, price, image) from that URL on your behalf. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to reference those products.
- Comments and Likes — you may comment on and like posts you can view.
- Social graph — you may follow other users. Accounts set to private require manual approval of follow requests. You may block any user at any time.
5. Content You Post
You retain ownership of all photos, images, captions, and other material you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). By posting Your Content, you grant CopOrDrop a non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, worldwide licence to host, store, display, reproduce, distribute, and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except to the extent Your Content has been shared with others who have not deleted it, or where we are required to retain it by law.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to post Your Content and to grant the licence above.
- Your Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party.
- Your Content complies with all applicable laws and these Terms.
Prohibited content. You may not post content that:
- Contains nudity, sexually explicit material, or graphic violence.
- Harasses, bullies, threatens, or demeans any individual or group.
- Constitutes hate speech based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Infringes any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property right.
- Violates any person's privacy or publicity rights.
- Is spam, unsolicited commercial advertising, or pyramid schemes.
- Contains malware, viruses, or malicious code.
- Violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Depicts or encourages self-harm, eating disorders, or dangerous activities targeting minors.
All uploads are automatically scanned by our content moderation system before going live. We may remove, restrict, or require removal of any Content that violates these Terms at our sole discretion, with or without notice. Repeated violations will result in account suspension or termination.
6. Intellectual Property — DMCA Takedown Procedure
We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe that Your Content has been copied or used in a way that infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent at:
Your notice must include:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- A description of the infringing material and where it is located on the Service.
- Your contact information (name, address, phone number, and email).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
- Your electronic or physical signature.
We will respond to valid notices by removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing content. Counter-notices and repeat-infringer policy are handled in accordance with the DMCA.
All other intellectual property rights in and to the Service (including the CopOrDrop name, logo, design, and software) are owned by us. You may not use them without our prior written consent.
7. Voting Integrity
- Each account may cast one vote per post. This is enforced at both the application and database level.
- Votes are final — they cannot be changed or retracted after submission.
- You may not use bots, scripts, coordinated rings, purchased votes, or any other means to artificially inflate or deflate vote counts.
- Posts expire at the time chosen by the poster. Expired posts are automatically removed from the Drop Zone.
- Attempting to manipulate the feed, recommendation algorithm, or any scoring system is prohibited.
8. Prohibited Conduct
In addition to the content restrictions in Section 5, you may not:
- Access, probe, or test the security or availability of our systems or networks without our express written permission.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying algorithms of any part of the Service.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service or its API at scale, or in any manner that places an unreasonable burden on our infrastructure.
- Impersonate any person, company, or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Use the Service to facilitate spam, phishing, or social engineering attacks.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security-related feature of the Service.
- Collect or harvest other users' personal information without their consent.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
9. Reporting and Content Moderation
You may report posts, comments, or user accounts that you believe violate these Terms. We accept reports for the following categories: spam, nudity, violence, harassment, hate speech, intellectual property infringement, and other policy violations.
All uploaded content is subject to automated review by our content moderation system (powered by AWS Rekognition) before becoming visible. Content flagged by the automated system may be held for human review. We may reject, hide, or remove any content that violates these Terms.
We may impose account-level restrictions including warnings, temporary restrictions, shadowbans (reduced visibility without notification), or permanent bans, depending on the severity and frequency of violations.
10. Appeals
If your account is banned, shadowbanned, or your content is rejected, you may submit an appeal by contacting us at support@copordrop.app. Appeals are reviewed at our discretion. We will try to respond within a reasonable time but cannot guarantee a specific response window. Our decision on appeals is final.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
12. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, product links you attach to a Drop). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site or service. Accessing third-party content is at your own risk and subject to that third party's terms and policies.
13. Termination
- We may suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time for any violation of these Terms, with or without prior notice.
- You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app.
- Upon termination (by either party), your right to access and use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 5 (Content — licence survival), 6, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 survive termination.
- We are not liable to you or any third party for termination of your account where we have acted in accordance with these Terms.
14. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.
We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free; (b) defects will be corrected; (c) the Service or any content on it is free of viruses or other harmful components; or (d) any vote result, community feedback, or discovery feature constitutes professional advice of any kind (fashion, financial, or otherwise).
15. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL COPORDROP, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CopOrDrop and its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) Your Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any rights of any third party.
17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts having jurisdiction over the applicable party, to the extent permitted by law.
Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at legal@copordrop.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via a notice in the app, by email, or by updating the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
19. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement — These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and CopOrDrop regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
- Severability — If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
- No waiver — Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment — You may not assign these Terms or your account. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
